This month we dive into the luminous world of Joaquín Sorolla, rightly referred to as "the painter of light". The bright Valencian sun, happy bathers, Spanish folklore and above all, his family were the colourful sources of inspiration for this wonderful 19th century master. This talk is our small contribution to the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of his death.
Irene Altares, an art historian and parishioner of the York Oratory, delivers a series of talks on the relations between art and Christianity followed by discussion. Every session looks at a specific topic or artist to ask questions about art, beauty and faith.
